Location of Astha Kunj Park

History and Problems with this park

Let examine the odds faced by DDA. The largest park in Delhi NCR, around 100 hectares. Thats a huge area to take care of. Compounded with the undulating surface, its actually a hillock. Huge business places surrounding like Nehru Place, Lotus Temple and ISKCON Temple. Affluent residential neighborhoods all around. This is a favorite hub for druggies and criminals aiming to loot people after dark. This place had its history. The park itself was inaugurated by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Construction of the Delhi metro left a permanent scar on the park. Finally due to pressure by the locals, the govt authorities decided to showcase this park as the best of what India can offer. Nicely built, this place is now lush green and divine.

Time for some twilight photography

Be careful of visiting this place at the time of sunset. This place can get dark and you are left to fend for yourself. Take care of your valuables and photographic equipment. Not that I felt any danger myself. Whether it is worth it, well, let the pictures speak for themselves.
